Lillian Bloedow, age 95, passed away at Lake Pointe Villa on Thursday, July 13, 2023. She was born to the late Andrew and Katherine (Schock) Tarala on March 13, 1928, in Oshkosh.
After graduating from high school, she began working as an assembler with Payne Lumber Company where she spent her 40-year career. She met her husband, Melvin, while working for Payne. She married Melvin on May 29, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church. Lillian enjoyed spending time with her husband, going on casino trips, as well as doing puzzles in her spare time. Lillian and Melvin were both members at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Lillian is survived by her brothers-in-law, Arthur Crook, and Robert (Barbara) Bloedow. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin “Shorty” Bloedow; brothers, Ed (Lee), Bill (Donna), John, and Clarence Tarala; sister, Dorothy (Arvin) Hesse; sisters-in-law, Ruby Crook, Irene (Jerry) Will, Laura (Raymond) Knack; and brothers-in-law, Clarence (Gloria) Bloedow and Don (Ida) Bloedow.
A service for Lillian will be held at the Lake View Memorial Park Chapel (2786 Algoma Blvd) on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 11AM. A time of visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of service. An entombment will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lillian’s name.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lake Pointe Villa as well as the staff of Compassus Hospice Care for their loving care of Lillian.
