Lillian M Winton

October 6, 1925 — June 13, 2008

Lillian M. Winton, of Oshkosh, died peacefully on June 13, 2008 at Park View Health Center surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. Lillian Munchie was born in Vulcan, MI on October 6, 1925 during a blizzard in a chicken coop (which was a story that was often told). She left this world during a terrible rain storm that flooded the city. She was the second of eleven children born to Dallas J. Baker and Catherine Gertrude Mengehni Baker. She married James D. Winton on October 7, 1943 in Iron River, MI. She is survived by her three children: Shirley Longsine (James), Robert (Gloria) Winton, and Sandy (Edward) Zink all of Oshkosh; four grandchildren, James E. (Kelly) Longsine, and Candice (Jose) Longsine both of Oshkosh; Robbie (Sheila) Winton of Hortonville; Garret (Tina) Winton of Wautoma; ten great grandchildren: Andrew (Jazmine), Erin (Kyle), Matt (Jasa) , Ashley Longsine and Danny (Ashlee) Longsine, Chad (Katie) Smith, Amy (John) Smith, Justine Dubinski, and Kaily Bartow all of Oshkosh; Alayna Winton of Hortonville; five great great grandbabies, Michael, Madysen, Skylar and Kyah Longsine, and Johnathon Holdren all of Oshkosh. Three more great great grandbabies will be born later this year, one of which will be her namesake. She is also survived by siblings, Patricia Jenkins, Shirley Salica, Kathleen Piantek, Judy Schmidt, and Christine Baker all of Kenosha, WI, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Carol Jean Baker, Elizabeth Betty Cole, Delaine Tomaszewski, Douglas Baker and Peter Baker all of Kenosha, WI. Mom will be remembered most for all the love she gave, even though at times she could be demanding and strong willed. She made the best pasties this side of the U.P. She loved to bake and cook for the entire family. She loved to play bingo and enjoyed her many trips to the casino. She is so loved by her entire family and will be sadly missed by all of them. The family would like to give special thanks to Carol Kriemelmeyer, State of Wisconsin Ombudsman; to all the staff at Park View Health Center; and her doctors, Dr. Matthew Kraemer and Dr. Lars Swanson. Her memorial service will be held at Lake View Memorial Park Chapel 2786 Algoma Blvd. Oshkosh, WI on Tuesday June 17, 2008 at 1:00 PM with the Deacon Fred Fischer officiating.
