Linda M. (Jones) Slager

Linda M. (Jones) Slager, age 84, peacefully passed away at her home on April 17th, 2022.  Linda was born May 1st, 1937, to the late Elmer and Marion (Safford) Walters, Omro, WI.
On September 26th, 1956 at Oshkosh Baptist Temple, Linda married Richard Jones I and together they had four children: Julia, Richard II, Teresa “Terry” and Theresa “Tracy”. Linda leaves behind a strong beautiful legacy with her music. Her love for Christ can clearly be heard in the songs that she wrote over the years. It was one of her greatest pleasures to sing in the church choir. Linda was forever the gracious hostess. She loved to have her family and church family over and gathered around her. You would never see Linda sitting down but instead always moving around making sure everyone was fed, smiles on their faces and a clean kitchen.   
   Linda is survived by her two daughters:  Julia (Ron) Fleener and Teresa (Leonard) Schmick; her daughter-in-law, Tristie (Jeff) Ludwig; son-in-law, Jeffrey (Sheri) Prellwitz; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Beverly Moriearty.
Along with her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Jones I and her second husband, Clarence Slager; a son and daughter, Richard Jones II and Theresa “Tracy” Prellwitz; a great-grandson; and sister Mildred McKey.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Friday, April 22nd, 2022 at Wyldewood Baptist Church, 3030 Witzel Ave, Oshkosh. Visitation will start at 9:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m.
