Liv A. Volland

Liv A. Volland, age 89 of Oshkosh, passed away at Evergreen Retirement Community, on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Although Liv was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, she was raised a Minnesota girl. She was born to Norwegian parents, Elmer and Lillian (Oium) Eid on July 24, 1932. Liv married Loran Volland on April 4, 1953 and raised three children.

She graduated from the University of North Dakota and then worked as a teacher and Librarian for the Stevens Point School System. She had a love for reading, and music. She and her sister, Maren, had  beautiful singing voices,  and were often asked to sing at weddings and funerals.

Over 68 years of marriage, Liv and Loran were blessed with many cherished memories, and experienced many adventures, side by side. They traveled the world and brought home precious treasures.

Liv loved her family. Her face lit up when she was around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved others fiercely, and always put them before herself. She was a feisty woman with a great sense of humor, and the best one-liners.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Loran Volland; children: Mark (Patty) Volland, Lynne (Rob) Rhodes, and Tim (Sue) Volland; 10 grandchildren and their spouses:  Kessa, Leah, Allison (Benjamin), Jesse (Stefanie), Benjamin (Jordyn), Conner (Danielle), Samantha (Jake), Erin (Don), Kelly, Emily and 13 great-grandchildren:  Twyla, Marguerite, Penny, Luna, Gemma, Carter, Annabelle, Claire, Landon, Parker, Ariana, Hazel and Della Liv.

In addition to her parents, Liv was preceded in death by her siblings: Elmer, Tom, and Maren.A time for family and friends to gather and remember Liv will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Evergreen chapel, 1130 N. Westfield St. Oshkosh, WI on Saturday, May 28, 2022. Her final resting place will be at King Veteran’s Cemetery.
