Lois Josephine Riese

Lois J. Riese, age 88, of Oshkosh, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2005. She resided at Bethel Home of Oshkosh. Lois was born May, 31, 1917 to parents Jack and Arvilla (Green) Maurer of Oshkosh. Lois married Kenneth Riese, November 30, 1936 in Waukegan, Illinois. They shared 62 years of marriage.Lois graduated from Oshkosh High School and between raising five sons and a daughter she worked as a nurse aide at Mercy Hospital and as a production worker at Mondl Shoe Company. Lois and her husband Ken were active in the Masons, Elks and Eagles, local bowling leagues and card club with their best friends. Throughout her life Lois loved to dance polkas and while at Bethel she enjoyed the Steve Young Big Band era music. She was also a great cook. She is survived by her children; David (Flo) of Westfield, Indiana; Robert (Jo), Charles (Judy), Steven (Kim), Michael (Marlene) of Oshkosh; and daughter Lynn (James) Zentner of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota; sister Jean (Jack) Eaker of Fort Meyers, Florida; sister-in-law Hope Eigenbrodt of Fond du Lac; 24 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Lois is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ken, and infant son Harry. Funeral services will be held, Monday, October 31, 2005 at 1:30 PM at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Joel Olsen officiating. Family and friends may call at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside on Sunday, October 30 from 2:00 -- 6:00 PM and at the church on Monday from 12:30 until the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Lois children wish to acknowledge the staff at Bethel Home for the outstanding care and love given to their mother.In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
