Loretta V. Davis, 84, Oshkosh/Appleton, entered into eternal life on October 31, 2006, at her daughter s home, following a long, courageous battle with emphysema and lung cancer. Loretta was born November 22, 1921 in Vosburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Oliver Fennimore and Myrtle Miner. She married George N. (Jack) Davis on January 9, 1943. Jack preceded her in death on October 30,1972.She was employed for many years by the Hudson Corporation of Detroit, Michigan and while her husband served his country in WWII Loretta did her part by working in a war plant making parts for military communications. She was a past member of the Fire Department Auxiliary in Campville, New York, the Elks Auxiliary in Troy, Michigan, and the Morning Esters and Quilters at the First United Methodist Church in Oshkosh.Loretta was a gifted and precise hand quilter whose beautiful work will be treasured by her family for many years to come. Her greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her Wit, humor and generosity of spirit will leave an empty space in their lives and she will be sorely missed.She is survived by her two children, Loretta Gale Fisher (Paul) of Appleton and George N. Davis Jr. (Christine)of Dexter, MI. She also leaves five treasured grandchildren, Wendi (Gregg) Schreiter, Carri (Steve) Karschney, Raymond P. Fisher, Michael (Kara) Davis, Jennifer (Howie) Bailey, four great-grandchildren, Trenton Schreiter, Kennedy Schreiter, Hayden Davis, and Ashton Davis, as well as beloved nieces and nephews, their families and many good friends. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers, one sister, two half-sisters and one half- brother.Funeral services will be held today Thursday November 2, 2006 at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-westside with Rev. Paul R. Fisher officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 3:00 pm and services will be held at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Theda Care Hospice (PO Box 469, Neenah, WI. 54957).The family would like to express their thanks to the nurses, home health workers, social workers, chaplains and volunteers who offered kindness, care and nurture during Lorettas final journey.
