Lorinda Kay Neerhof, age 47, passed away on Friday August 31, 2018 at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton, WI. Daughter of Lee and Lorna (Den Hartog) Neerhof, she was born on March 25, 1971 in Cusseta, Georgia.
She was a dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served as the Office Manager. She was also active in other churches throughout her life serving on mission projects, administrative work, and leading youth groups. She was an active member of NAMI Fox Valley. Crafting was a passion of Lorinda’s and her generosity throughout her life was felt by her numerous donations of blankets, hats, prayer shawls, and other items for various purposes including baby baptisms at church, Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Center, Aurora Medical Center Oshkosh labor and delivery, and local veteran homes.
She is survived by her father Lee Neerhof, her siblings Lenore Neerhof, Lyle Neerhof (Stephanie Brannon), and Lisa (B.J.) Kunza and their children Elijah Kunza, William Kunza, Nevaeh Neerhof, Destiny Brace, Anna Brace, and Tevin Thurmond and his son Mason Thurmond, and her maternal grandfather Robert Den Hartog.
She was preceded in death by her mother, maternal grandmother, and paternal grandparents.
A memorial service for Lorinda will be held on Saturday September 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Oshkosh (370 Bowen St) with Rev. Kelly Leary officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. A special Hymn Sing will be held on Friday September 14, 2018 at Apple Valley Church (1750 Olde Buggy Rd. Menasha, WI) from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Memorial donations will be given to National Alliance on Mental Illness of the Fox Valley.
Lorinda’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Luke’s Hospital, Froedtert Hospital, and Cherry Meadows Hospice as they supported her through her healthcare needs in her more than 2 year struggle with leukemia.
