Lorraine Catherine Zelke

Lorraine C. Zelke, 94, of Oshkosh, died on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Bethel Home. She was born on April 25, 1916 in Earling, Iowa the daughter of Albert and Anna Bayer Langenfeld. Lorraine married Emmet A. Zelke on July 20, 1938 in Oshkosh. Emmet preceded her in death on September 1, 1996. Lorraine was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish, St Mary's site. After retiring from farming with her husband, she worked at Neuberry's, Miles Kimball, and the Candle Factory. She enjoyed making quilts to keep her family warm, gardening for fresh tomatoes and cucumbers and most of all cooking, especially molasses cookies and homemade potato pancakes. Survivors include her grandchildren, David Zelke of Oshkosh, Lynette (David) Gee of Oshkosh, Lisa (Phil) Levine of Oshkosh, Lori (Jim) Dolan of Omro; great grandchildren, Michael Zelke, Haley and Sarah Gee and Jim Levine; and one sister, Ella Mae (Lyle) Beck of Oshkosh.Preceding Lorraine in death were her husband, Emmet; one son, Richard Zelke; her parents; and two sisters, Elvera Winegarden, and Violetta Fischer.A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 4:00 PM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside). Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM to the time of service. Entombment will be in Lake View memorial Park.Mrs. Zelke's family would like to thank the staff at Bethel Home and the caregivers from Hospice Advantage for the wonderful care she received during this difficult time.
