Lorraine Ruth Knack, 85, went to join her Savior on Monday, October 31, 2011 at St. Elizabeths Hospital - Appleton surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 23, 1926, a daughter of Carl and Ada (Luebke) Knack.Lorraine attended Howlett School in the Town of Black Wolf and had worked at Bell Machine Company, SNC and for 34 years at Miles Kimball. Following retirement in 1982, Lorraine spent many hours doing volunteer work for the following: Mercy Medical Center, the Red Cross office, the Winnebago County Dept. of Human Services office, Evergreen Retirement Community and Centennial Inn all of Oshkosh. Lorraine was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Van Dyne where she was baptized and confirmed. She enjoyed watching baseball games on T.V. Her favorite team was the Atlanta Braves but when their games werent on, she would watch the Milwaukee Brewers. She was always ready for a game of Yahtzee or Bingo. She also enjoyed baking, everything from Blitz Torte, Cream Puffs, Zucchini Bread or Date Cake just to name a few of her favorite recipes.Lorraine was blessed with a wonderful memory. Relatives and friends would call on her for dates and details of events throughout the years.Survivors include her sister, Irene (David) Jacobs of St. Peter; a nephew, John Jacobs of Weston; a niece, Julie (Larry) Becker of Fond du Lac; their three daughters, Shelby Raie, Brittany Lynn and Hailey Beth. She is further survived by two aunts, Viola Knack and Ruth Bergman, both of Oshkosh, cousins, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, many aunts, uncles and cousins.The funeral service for Lorraine will be held at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church (Van Dyne) on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Lester Fritz officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home - Westside (100 Lake Pointe Dr.) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again at church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to the service time. Burial will be at Zion Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Black Wolf. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lorraines name to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Van Dyne, the Winnebago Lutheran Academy, or the American Red Cross.Also, a special thank you to the entire staff of Serenity Place, Lorraines place of residence for 17 years: Paul & Diane Hollub, Diane Nourse, Amy Williams, and Jessica Pond.
