Lyle "Jack" J. Calkins

Lyle “Jack” J. Calkins, age 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at his home in Berlin with his family at his side. Jack was born March 13, 1932 in Mercer, WI to the late George and Eva (Holmes) Calkins. He married Donna Selwitschka on April 10, 1954 in Oshkosh, WI, and together raised five children.

Jack served in the United States Army from 1950-1953, serving two of the years in France. He retired from Oshkosh Corporation in 1995. Jack was a member of the Oshkosh American Legion. He loved going for long car rides with Donna, never knowing where they would end up! He enjoyed sports, reading, and doing puzzles.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Donna Calkins; children: Pam Calkins, Jackie (Mike) Oakes, Lyle Calkins Jr., Terry (Kaye) Calkins, LeAnn Calkins; ten grandchildren: Donald II (Dena), Nicole (Joe), Jacob (Brianna), Danielle, Shane (Emily), Shanna, Leslie (Chris), Shorty (Jared), Billy (Brittany), and Andrew; great-grandchildren: Donald III, David, Alyssa, Brett, Kali, Brooklynn, Christopher, Madyson, Jace, Declan, Ian.

He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

A funeral service for Jack will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 8th, 2021 at Lake View Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of the service, with Military Honors and entombment to follow.
