Lyn Diane Robinson

April 1, 1941 — September 19, 2024

Oshkosh

Lyn Diane Robinson (nee Martin), age 83, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024 at Evergreen Retirement Community. Lyn was born on April 1, 1941, a daughter of Allan and Marie (Novak) Martin, and was loved dearly by her family. Her children and grandchildren meant everything to her and were a blessing from her marriage to William C. Robinson. She cherished time spent with them in playing games, quilting, and watching them grow; Teaching and exposing them to all passions she loved.

As a young woman, Lyn was a member of the International Order of Job’s Daughters, and in 1959 was installed as Honored Queen of Bethel 9. This membership made an everlasting impact on her life, providing her with experiences that fueled her desire to use her God given gifts to serve others throughout her life.

God gifted her with the passion of creativity. She enthused her creativity into everything she made from church banners, ceramic windchimes and figurines, floral arrangements, jewelry, craft displays, and through her love and perfection of quilting. While she stayed home with her children, she was always creating, selling handmade items at craft fairs, gardening, and teaching kids in the Prairie Pioneers 4-H Club (North Prairie).

In 1980, Lyn joined with her dearest and closest friend, the late Phyllis Sayles, to co-own Mother Hubbard and the Cupboard in Genesee Depot. Their joy of teaching shone in the sewing and crafting classes they offered, providing handwritten patterns for whatever was available. Years later, Lyn was a member of the Mukwonago Crazy Quilters, Inc. and the Lakeside Quilters Guild, LLC. in Oshkosh. Quilting molded well with Lyn’s skill for sewing, design and creativity. She made quilts using her own designs or used pre-made patterns, adding her own twist. She definitely had an eye for color and matching those points!

After her children were all off to school, Lyn continued to use her talents in secretarial roles, most meaningful to her being at Blum & Colombe and Caroll University. She was an excellent planner, organizer, and smart financial manager.

Lyn’s memory will forever be cherished by her daughters: Carrie (Richard), Debbie (Richard), and Jodi (Kyn); grandchildren: Alexander, Josephine (Brittany), and Katherine, Max and Sam; cousins, Judith and Alan; nieces, Valerie and Colleen; friend Carol; beloved dog, Jaxon.

In addition to her parents, Lyn was preceded in death by her aunts, Elinore (Albert) and Clare (James); uncle Robert; cousins, Ronald and Beverly; cherished dog, Dolly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 519 Knapp St. Oshkosh on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. After private burial at Genesee Village Cemetery, a celebration of life will be open to anyone wishing to pay their respects on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Wales-Genesee Lions Club, S42 W31400, WI-83, Genesee Depot, from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
