Mable Viola Schaefer

Mable V. Schaefer age 96 of Oshkosh, died on Sunday November 25, 2012 at Eden Meadows. She was born in Illinois on August 10, 1916 a daughter of the late Otto and Minnie Koarsch Klug. Mable married Kenneth Schaefer on February 22, 1941 at her parents home in Oshkosh, officiated by Kens brother, Rev. Russell Schaefer. Ken preceded her in death on February 25, 2005.Mable was baptized in Milwaukee, confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church and a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Mable was the bookkeeper for the family business, Schaefer Well Drilling. She was totally devoted to her husband and son, Bobby. She enjoyed gardening at home and at Eden Meadows.Survivors include her sister, Ethel Ott of Kalispell, Montana; niece, Liz (Don) Lehmann of Oshkosh; and special friends, Michael and Dawn Bernier of Oshkosh; and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Bobby and brother Raymond Klug.Memorial services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church (338 N. Eagle St.) on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. David Pagel officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 am to the time of service. Inurnment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Immanuel Lutheran Church.With deep gratitude we give special thanks to the entire staff at Eden Meadows, particularly the loving caregivers at Greenhouse East for the wonderful care and compassion given to Mable while she resided there.
