Manuel “Manny” Lee Peters, age 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Patriot Place in Berlin. He was born on January 18, 1935 in Black Creek to the late Herbert and Arlene (Owen) Peters. Manuel was united in marriage to Mary Lou Bormann on August 4, 1956 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Oshkosh.
Manny was a firefighter with the Oshkosh Fire Department for 32 years retiring as Chief Officer of the fire department. After his retirement, Manny could often be found fishing in Hayward on his pontoon. He was highly skilled in woodworking and known to be able to build anything from basic shelving to beautiful cottages. Manny also was a proud Season Ticket Holder for the Green Bay Packers.
Manuel is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lou; four children: Bill (Kim), Bob (Linda), Paul (Kris), Brenda (Matt) Keating; six grandchildren: Lisa Gosse, Stephanie (Jerry) Van Lanen, Matthew Peters, Eric (Ashley) Peters, Daniel (Jessica) Peters, Kendra (Matthew) Parafiniuk; eight great grandchildren; brother, Bruce Peters (Marge); and a sister, Phyllis (Richard)Gray. He was further preceded in death by his infant twin son and daughter, Manuel and Mary; five brothers: Clinton, David, Herbert, Michael, Jerry; and a sister, Amber.
Private family services will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh. Burial will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
