Marcella Louine Day

Marcella L. Day, age 88 of Oshkosh, died at Bethel Home on Thursday December 30, 2010. She was born in Oshkosh on December 13, 1922, a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Bertha W. Hafeman Tavernie. Marcella married Duane Day on October 10, 1938 in Kentucky. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1998.Marcella was a loving mother, a wonderful homemaker and an active member of First English Lutheran Church.Survivors include two sons, Phil Day, Oshkosh; Doug (Diane) Day, Minocqua; one daughter, Cheryl (Robert Noe) Cheslock, Menasha; two sisters, Laura Belot, Neenah; and Shirley Reiter, Omro; eight grandchildren, Don (Sue) Jungen, Darboy; Krista (Doug) Keyes, Chicago; Jeff (Heidi) Noonan-Day, Cedar Falls, IA; Scott (Erika) Day, Richfield; Chris (Dawn) Day, Combined Locks; Jim (Kristen) Day, Green Bay; Troy (Cindy) Day, Oshkosh; Mike (Connie) Day, Oshkosh; sixteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Kenneth Day; one brother, Carlton Tavernie; two sisters, Esther McCarthy and Leona Corpian.Funeral services will be held in Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Nancy Krueger officiating. Family and friends may call on Monday from 9:00AM to the time of service. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park.
