Margaret Louise Theresa Alm

Margaret Louise Theresa Norris Alm, daughter of Thomas Joseph Norris and Margaret Begley Norris died February 18, 2012 at her home in Oshkosh surrounded by family and friends. Margarets passion for life, community, golf, bridge, and friendship has been inspirational to her family and all who have come in contact with her. Margaret was born Sept. 6th, 1924 in New Orleans and married to William D. Alm in 1951. She is survived by: Husband, William Alm of Oshkosh; Sister, Mary Folmer of Baton Rouge, LA; Nephews: Mark (Marjory) Scott of Sparta, NJ; Norris (Tracy) Scott of Westport, CT; Nieces: Megan Scott of New York, NY and Karen Folmer of Baton Rouge, LA; Grandnieces and Grandnephews: Lauren and Erin Scott, Scott Borgstead , Charles and Thomas Scott; and a brother-in-law, Frank Scott of Redding, CT. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; twin brother, Thomas; and her sister, Kathleen Scott of Connecticut; and brother-in-law, John Folmer of Louisiana.She graduated from Loyola of the South Pharmacy School in 1944. She later received her Doctorate in Pharmacy in 1982.Margaret was the chief Pharmacist at Berlin Memorial Community Hospital for many years as well as at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.Margaret held numerous leadership roles: at the national level in pharmaceutical organizations and locally at the Paine Art Center and Gardens, Ladies Benevolent Society, Oshkosh Area Humane Society, Mercy Medical Auxiliary, Oshkosh Senior Center, Bethel Home, Board of Evergreen Manor, and Oshkosh Public Library Board.In accordance with her wish, there will be no service or visitation. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society, 1925 Shelter Court , Oshkosh, WI 54901.Her family wishes to thank her special friends that supported Margaret in her final days and to the wonderful care givers; Marlene, Susan, Cindy, Athena and Becky and Stephanie of Hospice Advantage
