Margaret Potratz

Margaret C. Potratz 90, of Omro died at Omro Care Center on Friday, March 28, 2008. She was born in the Town of Nekimi on May 8, 1917 a daughter of William and Frieda Lederer Wilke. Margaret married Victor Potratz on October 24, 1936 in Oshkosh. Victor preceded her in death on June 9, 1956.Margaret raised nine children after being widowed at age 39. Her youngest was 9 months and oldest was 17. She was a farm wife and was a housekeeper at Park View Health Center. She faithfully attended her church. She enjoyed quilting, ceramics and after retiring, she traveled. Survivors include nine children, V. Jay (Nancie) Potratz, Brenda (Tom) Ellis, Sadonna Gurley, nthony (Vicki) Potratz, Nathan (Sharon) Potratz, all of Omro; Sidney (Carol) Potratz, Franksville, WI; Renny (Nancy) Potratz, Omro; Daniel (Jo) Potratz, Phoenix, AZ; Lonny (Cheri) Potratz; Omro; 25 grandchildren, Randy, Lisa, Wesley, Richard, April, Candace, Jayne, Ross, Jill, Shonna, Todd, Mechelle, Tina, Nicholas, Jennifer, Sy, Lizabeth, Joey, Russell, Harley, Matthew, Adam, Amy, Jacob, Max; and 56 great grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother-in-law, Willie Eichstadt, Oshkosh; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Potratz, Fruitport, MI; Geri Potratz, Fremont; and Ruth Potratz, Texas. Preceding her in death was a daughter-in-law, Mary Potratz, one brother Harold Wilke, three sisters, LaVerne Eichstadt, Alice Damerow and Mildred Sanderson. Funeral services will be held at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 4:00 PM with Pastor Paul Stephens officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 PM to the time of service. Interment will be at Omro Junction Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
