Marilyn Jean Ferris

Marilyn J. Ferris passed away after a short illness on Thursday, January 8, at Parkview Health Center. She was 84 years old.Mom was born August 8, 1930 in Oshkosh, daughter of Matt and Irma (Wohler) Schmidt, who preceded her in death.She married Jack L. Ferris on May 21, 1949 in Oshkosh, and he also preceded her in death.Mom enjoyed reading, was an exceptional caregiver to Dad during his extended disability and was actively involved in all the activities at Parkview.She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie (Roy) Meulemans, Oshkosh, Sherry (Phil) Lux, Omro; grandchildren, Melissa (Ben) Koepke, Oshkosh, Ryan (Nicole) Meulemans, Lakeville, MN, Jodi (Jason) Newell, Oshkosh, Cory (Jessica) Lux, Oshkosh and Shaun (Terri) Meulemans, Germantown, WI; eleven great-grandchildren, Brock Koepke, Ashlyn Koepke, Addison Meulemans, Bennett Meulemans, Tatum Newell, MaCoy Newell, Baby Boy Newell, Brandi Stafford, Bronson Lux, Ty Meulemans and Zac Meulemans; one great-great-granddaughter Kylah Lux.She is also survived by one sister, Edith Frahm and one sister-in-law, Sue Schmidt, along with many nieces and nephews.Mom was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Schmidt and brother-in-law, Clayton ( Butch) Frahm.A funeral service for Mom will be held Monday January 12, 2015 at 11:00 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Lidtke officiating. Visitation will be at church from 9 am to 11 am. Burial will take place at Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial has been established.Our family would like to thank the entire staff at Parkview Health Center for the excellent care she received. The staff will always be in our thoughts and prayers.Mom will always be remembered for her love of family. We will miss you forever.
