Born February 20, 1930, Marion was the daughter of Lester F. and Edna Gilkey Stevenson. She attended the local schools and upon graduation from high school, attended Monticello College and later the University of Wisconsin-Madison from which she was graduated in 1952.
After 10 years of secretarial work, she returned to UWO, received a degree in education and library science, and worked as a media specialist in the Oshkosh school system for 21 years.
Retirement allowed her to pursue her interest in travel. Many of her trips were generated by her interest in genealogy. She also enjoyed other trips to many places around the world. In later years England and Scotland became her destinations of choice, and she enjoyed many trips there. When not traveling, Marion loved to spend time baking and enjoyed sharing the results among her friends.
She was active in the Red Cross when there was a local chapter here and served two terms on the Board of Directors and always worked the blood banks. She was a long-time member of the Woman's Reading Club of Oshkosh.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents and four older brothers: Gilkey; Robert (Virginia); Bruce (Vera) and Paul (Sue). She is survived by her 8 nieces and nephews: Bruce (Donna) Stevenson and Jim (Gail) Stevenson of Oshkosh; Susan (Louie) Stevenson-Patnaude of Delavan; Scott (Lynn) Stevenson of Eden Prairie, MN; Todd (Nancy) Stevenson and Judd (Judy) Stevenson of Neenah; Patricia (Bill) Bosiacki, of Luxemberg and Kyle (Penny) Stevenson of DePere.
