Marion J. Block, age 94, passed away peacefully with family members on October 28, 2018 at Park View Health Center. She was born to the late William and Erna (Tabbert) Janowski on September 26, 1924 in Oshkosh. She married Conrad Block on November 17, 1945, and they were together until his passing in 1996; together they had six children. She worked at Lenox Candles and was a designer with Steins Gardens and Gifts. She was a member at Christ Lutheran Church.
The love of her family always came first. She also enjoyed gardening; watching the birds and wildlife; working on her flower arrangements; and reading mystery and romance novels. In her spare time, she liked to volunteer at food pantries and deliver Meals on Wheels. She treasured her time spent at the farm and going out for rides on the pontoon boat.
Marion is survived by her sons, David (Charlene) Block, Gary (Linda) Block, Dennis Block, and Randy (Joanne) Block; six grandchildren, Eric (Wendy) Block, Shannon (Brian) Gibson, Laura (Jason Suleski) Block, Lisa (Dennis) Sokel, Jason (Amy) Block, Michael Block; six great-grandchildren; and David Abraham, special cousin.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marion was preceded in death by her son, Larry Block; daughter, Dawn Block; brothers and sisters-in-law, William (Gloria) Janowski and Willard (Betty) Janowski.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Park View Health Center for the care and comfort of our Mother.
A service for Marion will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home Westside (100 Lake Pointe Drive). A visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of service. Rev. Connie Weiss will be officiating. A private burial will take place at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to either Christ Lutheran Church or the Animal Shelter of Oshkosh.
