Marge Dahms, 82, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 20, 2012. Marge was born on July 21, 1929 in Oshkosh, the daughter of the late L. Arthur Wenrich and Doris (Ott) Wenrich. She married LeRoy Dahms in 1970 in Texas.Marge was an active community volunteer. She was a life-time member of the Winnebago County Republican Party. For many years she was known as Mrs. Republican of Winnebago County. Over the years, she performed many tasks: membership, newsletters, looking for delegates, chairing - Lincoln Day dinners, phone banks, headquarters, yard signs, literature drops, and corn roasts. She helped various candidates at the local, county, state, and national levels. She won the state Achievers Award and Star Award from the state Republican Party for outstanding performance in 1991. The awards are based on increases in membership the previous year, party programs and activities. The former Winnebago County Register of Deeds, Marge Dahms, received the outstanding County Volunteer Award for Winnebago County, the Bovay Award for the 6th Congressional District and the Cole Bashford Award in recognition of her many years of service in both Wisconsin and Texas on behalf of the party.She was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church. Marge was a graduate of Oshkosh High School. She was active in the Wisconsin Register of Deeds Association and held various posts: treasurer, first, second, and third vice-president, and president. She served as a volunteer in; Salvation Army Board, Juvenile Court, Winnebago County Board as a Winnebago County Supervisor prior to her election as Register of Deeds, Oshkosh Boys and Girls Club, Rape Crisis Board, Oshkosh Area United Way, and the American Cancer Society of Winnebago Southern Unit.Marge is survived by her husband, LeRoy of Oshkosh; daughter, Deborah (David) Sallee of Dallas, TX; grandsons, Ryan (Glenda) Bolling of Houston, TX and Tyler Bolling of Oshkosh; step-son, Terrence Dahms of Oshkosh; cousins and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Douglas Dochterman and grandson, Danny Dochterman. The funeral service will be at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside) on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 7:00 pm. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Memorials to Martin Luther Lutheran Church or the National Kidney Foundation.
