Marvin A. Pelky, age 78, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born in Oshkosh on October 2, 1942 to the late Joseph and Dorothy (Straski) Pelky.
Marvin graduated from Oshkosh High School and was the quarterback for their football team. He went on to graduate from North Dakota State University. He was united in marriage to Mary Martin on March 27, 1975. Marv was an avid hunter and fisherman in Montana. He also fished in the Montana Bass Federation for several years. Later Marv moved to Texas where he enjoyed more bass fishing.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Mary Pelky; seven children: Christine (Chuck) Sterling, Shannon (Michael) Mayor, Michelle (Doug) Scheeler, Jackie (Michael) Hurst, Anthony (Kindra Hansen) Bryant, Craig Bryant, and Connie Rathbone; nine grandchildren: Josh (Katie) Bryant, Jackson Bryant, Daniell and Devin Mayor, Raya and Darienne Hurst, Zachary and Maxwell Scheeler, Jennifer Bryant; two great grandchildren: Annabelle and Fin Bryant; and two sisters: Carmaine O’Donnell and Elaine Pinno. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy Pelky; brother, Raymond Pelky; and brother-in-law, Bill O’Donnell.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
