Marvin Frederick Gohlke

Marvin Jake Frederick Gohlke, 87, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at his residence. Jake was born in Mayville, on July 18, 1928 to the late Clarence and Amanda (Rose) Gohlke. Jake married Shirley Kolodzik on November 9, 1957 who preceded him in death on January 6, 2012.Jake enlisted in the United States Navy in 1944. He later worked as an operational machinist, and worked in construction. He enjoyed fishing and meeting with friends in the morning at the B&E Lounge. Marvin is survived by his children: John (Susan) Gohlke and Barb (Edward) Schlichting; grand children: Camilla (Shad) Young, and Katie Gohlke, great grand children: Noah and Jack Young, his brother, William (Nancy) Gohlke, sisters: Bonnie Angell and Babe Button. Jake is further survived by his buddy Rascal. Marvin is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Gohlke, son, Robert Gohlke, and sisters: Janet Piller and Elda Soyk.Friends and family may visit at the funeral home (Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr) on Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00p.m. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
