Mary Ann Walsh

December 19, 1919 — July 29, 2008

Mary Ann Walsh, age 88, passed away on July 29 at home with her family by her side. It is fitting and appropriate that we mark her departure by thanking God for His many and gracious acts shown to Mary Ann throughout her life.She was born Mary Ann Frank in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on December 19, 1919, thedaughter of Charles and Anna (Miller) Frank. Mary Ann became a member of Gods family of faith through the Sacraments of Holy Baptism on January 30, 1920 and Confirmation on May 6, 1931 at St. Vincents Catholic Church in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Mary Ann was employed at the Oshkosh Trunk and Luggage Company and the Tasty Bakery.The Lord graciously provided her with a faithful and loving companion for 61 years in her husband, Arthur Walsh, whom she married on May 19, 1947. The Lord blessed their marriage with the gift of five children. After her marriage, Mary Ann became a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church (now St. Jude Parish (Sacred Heart Church) in Oshkosh where she was involved in various activities such as Camp Fire Girls Leader, Den Mother for Cub Scout groups and other committees.Her greatest and most precious love of her life, however, was her family. She was a devoted Wife and Mother and a loving Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She willalways be remembered for her beautiful and constant smile and her sense of humor.She is survived by those she loved so dearly, her Husband, Arthur; Her five children, Marlene Walsh, Oshkosh; Michael (Vicki) Walsh, Oshkosh; Richard (Linda) Walsh, Los Angeles, CA; Jean (Dewey) Josephson, Oshkosh and John (Kim) Walsh, Los Alamos, CA; Her Grandchildren, Aaron and Erik Walsh, Oshkosh; Daphne Walsh, Chatsworth, CA; Niko, Koby and Kiana Walsh, Los Angeles, CA; Her Step Grandchildren, Heather (Andrew) Thorson, Brookfield, WI and Dewey Josephson II, Greenfield, WI. There are two Great Grandsons, Kain and Caleb. She is also survived by a Brother-In-Law, Leon Hanneman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her six Brothers; Leonard, Albert, Charles, Joseph, Jack and Herman Frank and two Sisters, Harriet Frank and Dorothy Hanneman; one special Niece, Dr. LeeAnn McCaffery and two nephews, James and Donald Frank.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 2 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude Parish (Sacred Heart Church) (519 Knapp Street) with the Rev. William Van De Kreeke and the Rev. Thomas Reynebeau officiating. Family and friends may call at the Church from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Mary Anns remains will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in a private committal service at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Mary Anns name to Aurora Hospice and St. Jude Catholic Church.Mary Anns entire family wishes to thank Aurora Hospice and also a special thanks to Debbie Griswold and Lisa Stiebs.
