Mary E. Chappa (Nimke), beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2023, at the age of 79. She was born on July 13, 1944, in Berlin, WI, and was a cherished resident of Oshkosh, WI for her entire life.
Mary was a woman of unwavering faith, finding solace and strength in her devotion. She was a proud graduate of Lourdes Academy, being part of its very first graduating class. Mary had a remarkable love for nature, enjoying the simple pleasures of planting flowers and spending time outdoors surrounded by the melody of chirping birds. She had a natural talent for creating warm and inviting atmospheres, adorning her home with beautiful candles and festive decorations throughout the seasons and holidays. When she was spending holidays with her family, she enjoyed a southern comfort Old Fashioned with seltzer.
Family meant everything to Mary, and she treasured the joyous moments spent celebrating birthdays with her loved ones. She had fond memories of her travels across the country with her parents during her younger years, creating a strong bond with her family through those experiences.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Chappa, her loving children, Nicole (Chris) Linton, Patrick (Jade) Chappa, and Timothy Chappa, her caring brothers, Alfred Nimke and David Nimke, her dear sister, Doris Genal, and her adored grandsons, Aiden Linton and Liam Linton. She was preceded in death by her parents and other family members who surely welcomed her with open arms.
