Mary Ellen Zellmer went to her eternal rest on Friday, February 22, 2019. She was born on August 25, 1935 to Clarence and Naomi Radig in Oshkosh, WI. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Oshkosh and received all her education in Oshkosh, having attended Longfellow, Washington, Merrill and Oshkosh High School. She was employed by Coe Drug, Food Queen and the Oshkosh Area School District having retired in 1995. She then worked part time at Firstar Bank and Lang Oil.
She is survived by six sons, Thomas (Catherine) Zellmer, Reedsburg, WI, Tim Zellmer, Sarasota, FL, Terry Gardener, Palm Springs, CA, Trent (Linda) Zellmer, Pearson, WI, Ted (Sandy) Zellmer, Oshkosh and Todd (Rhonda) Zellmer, Oshkosh. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jared and Ben Zellmer, Emily and Max Zellmer, Toby and Lucas Zellmer, Josh Jones and Shaylon Zellmer, sisters-in-law Lorraine Radig, Beaver Dam, WI, and Elaine Stein, Oshkosh, and brother-in-law Jay Williams, Hot Springs, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Robert Henrikson, two brothers, James Radig and Richard Radig, her sister Karen Williams, her grandson Tyler Zellmer as well as her ex-husband Charles Zellmer. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, along with many close friends.
Mary Ellen enjoyed bowling, hand crafts, sewing, gardening, furniture refinishing, bicycling, the Milwaukee Brewers, reading and most of all her grandchildren. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, having served on the church council, worked in the church office and enjoyed making quilts with the church quilting group.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Konrad- Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside, 402 Waugoo Avenue, Oshkosh. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the Salvation Army or the Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation.
Mom – What more can we say, other than you were the best and you did great! We will miss your wonderful meals, your cookies, your coffee cakes and your gentle laugh. We love you and you are forever in our hearts.
