Mary Louise Halasi

MaryLou Halasi age 76 of Independence, MO, formerly of Oshkosh died at Grace Hospice in Independence on Monday, September 3, 2012. She was born in Oshkosh on January 9, 1936 a daughter of the late Carl and Emma Olga Hill Mailahn. She married Ernest Mike Halasi on October 24, 1959 in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on September 29, 2010. While living in Oshkosh, MaryLou was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. MaryLou will be missed for her Christian compassion and kindness to others, sassy sense of humor, devotion to family, and love of animals. Survivors include one daughter, Ruth (Fianc James Standridge) Cheshier of Buckner, MO; one son, Michael C. (Martha) Halasi, of Green Bay, WI and two grandchildren, Taylor Cheshier of Buckner, MO and Andrew Schmick of Clinton, MO. and her adored furry companion Celine. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Ernest. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Lake View Memorial Park on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 2:30 PM with the Rev. Jennifer Czarnota officiating. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society or the Oshkosh Humane Society.
