Maxine Bernice Doemel, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 11, 2012, with family by her side. Maxine was born on July 15, 1926, the daughter of Roland and Ella Beck. She graduated from Oshkosh Senior High School in 1944 and worked at the Jewel Tea Company. She married Walter Doemel on August 20, 1949, and would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary this year.After the birth of her children, Maxine thoroughly enjoyed the role of mother and homemaker. She was a gracious hostess, and if you ever left the house hungry or thirsty, it was your own fault. She loved her treats and sweets, especially chocolate, and could polish off a gallon of ice cream in no time. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, knitting, and spending time with her grandchildren, Jordan and Laura, who were her pride and joy.Maxine is survived by her husband Walter, two sons, Charles Doemel, Oshkosh, Wl; Carl Doemel, Oshkosh, Wl, a niece, Barbara Brahe Dovel, Libertyville, IL, nephews, Bruce Brahe, Arlington, VA, Brian Brahe, Winter Haven, FL, Barry Brahe, Gurnee, IL, grandchildren, Jordan Doemel, Oshkosh, Wl, and Laura Doemel, Combined Locks, Wl. She is further survived by 11 great-nieces and nephews, and 6 great, great-nieces and nephews.Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Ella March Beck, her sister, Betty Beck Brahe, and her niece, Bonnie Brahe Schaefer.Funeral services for Maxine will be held on Thursday March 15, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Eastside with Rev. Karen Jewell officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral. Private cemetery services will be held at Riverside Cemetery.The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our angels on earth who helped care for Maxine: Jan, Julie, Debbie, Jody, and Tania. We dont know what we would have done without all of you! A warm thank you to Aurora Hospice: Bev, Karen, Stacey, Shelly, Tammy, and Amy. A big thank you also goes out to Dr. Duwell and his staff.Maxine will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
