Michael A. Loper

Michael A. Loper, age 74, passed away on August 26, 2017 at Bella Vista. Michael was born on July 13, 1943 to the late Elden and Susie (Von Rembow) Loper in Oshkosh. Michael was a member of the United States Army. He married Judith Hall on February 25, 1967 in Omro. He worked as a banker at various financial institutions, including Family Finance, First National Bank in Appleton, and Frontier Savings and Loan until illness forced him into early retirement. Michael was an avid fisherman and hunter, as well as a golfer and trap shooter. He also liked to collect and sell sports collectibles.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Judith; two sons, Adam (Emily Selk) Loper, and Justin (Shelley Weston) Loper; brother, Dennis (Sandy) Loper; sister, Kathleen (Tim) Gannon; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Michael is further preceded in death by two sisters, Sharon Lohry, and Patricia Rasmussen.

Due to Michael's wishes, there will be no services held. There will be a celebration of Life for Michael on October 14 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Oblio’s.

The family would like to thank Mercy Hospice and the staff at Bella Vista who are so caring, and comforting. You made his stay there very pleasant, thank you.
