Michael J. Pfaffenroth

January 31, 1946 — June 15, 2018

Michael, J. Pfaffenroth, age 72 of Oshkosh, passed away at his residence on June 15, 2018. He was born on January 31, 1946 to the late Melvin and Jane (Schneider) Pfaffenroth.

Michael was born and raised in Oshkosh and was a graduate of Lourdes Academy. He earned his undergraduate degree from St. Mary’s College and finished his formal education by earning his PhD in Developmental Neurobiology from Purdue University in Indiana.

Prior to completing his PhD, Michael served our country in the United States Army. After his time in the service he earned his PhD, then worked as an Infection Control Coordinator at Mercy Medical Center where he would later retire.

An extremely gifted craftsman, Michael enjoyed woodworking and whittling. He had a strong interest in United States history and was an avid reader of history particularly relating to the American Civil War and World War II.

Michael is survived by his son Christopher M. Pfaffenroth of Portland, OR as well as his brother David (Diane) Pfaffenroth and four nieces/nephews: Jake, Lucas, Molly, and Lauren Pfaffenroth. Michael was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Eastside, 402 Waugoo Ave on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to one’s choice of charity, in Michael’s memory.
