Michael "Mick" W. Schneider, 64, of Oshkosh died Thursday February 25, 2010 at Bethel Home. He was born May 29, 1945 in Oshkosh a son of the late Sylvester and Arlene (Gaffney) Schneider. Mick was the owner/operator of a small trucking business in the Oshkosh area. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1966 to 1968, and remained very patriotic since. Mick was an avid fisherman and reader. He enjoyed playing sheepshead, going out to eat with his fiance, and taking care of his thirteen cats. His greatest pride was having his own business and taking care of his customers. Mick is survived by his fiance, Elvise McDowell; special friends, Harvey and Joe; five sisters Patricia (Bernie) Schneider, Gail (Neil) LaPoint, Mary True (Jim Setzer), Diana Cleveland, and Lisa (Jim) Rudolph; three brothers, Warren (Joanie) Schneider, Tom (Bonnie) Schneider, and Jerry Schneider; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Daryl, a brother-in-law Dave Cleveland, and two nephews, Michael True and Donny Schneider. A memorial service for Mick will be held Thursday March 4, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, Rev. Tom Reynebeau officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to the time of service and military honors will follow the service. Inurnment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In memory of Mick a memorial is being established. Mick's family would like to thank the staffs at Bethel Home and Affinity VNA Hospice for all their care and concern.
