Myron Jovaag

Myron Joe Jovaag, age 87, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Bethel Home. He was born on April 5, 1927, in Neenah, the son of the late Myron and Myrtle (Petersen) Jovaag. He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1945; where he was very active in many sports especially football and track. He served our country in the Navy from May 1945 until August 1946. He was united in marriage to Jean Zentner on September 27, 1947. During their marriage they were blessed with a daughter and a son. He worked for the Olivetti Corp out of Milwaukee and was transferred to Kansas City, MO; where he was promoted to district manager. He continued his career in office equipment until retirement in Oshkosh. After retirement he enjoyed working at the EAA grounds. Myron was very active in his church, serving as president of the church counsel in the 1980s. He enjoyed fishing, boating, playing golf and watching the Green Bay Packers and spending time with family and friends.Myron is survived by his loving wife, Jean of 66 years, one daughter, Sue (Donaven) Reinke, one son, Bruce (Chris) Jovaag, two grandchildren: Kris (Bob) Plummer Baumgartner and Marny (Toby) Schroepfer; three great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and godson Michael Jovaag. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Jovaag and step-sister, Myra (Mark) Daniels.A memorial service for Myron will be held at 12:00pm noon, on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 1250 Leonards Point Road, Oshkosh with Pastor RaeAnn Beebe officiating. Friends and family may visit at the church from 11:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Paul UCC or the Humane Society.He will be known as a sweet, loving, gentle and quiet man who was loved by all.
