Nancy Ellen Jackisch

Nancy Ellen Jackisch died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at her familys home. She was born on May 13, 1946, in Oshkosh, to the late August and Della (Geikowski) Jackisch.Nancy graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 1964. She earned a BA degree in English and a Masters degree in Library Science. She worked at the Oshkosh Public Library for 43 years. She began as a Library Assistant in the Circulation Department, then worked as a Librarian at the South Side Branch where she was promoted to Branch Manager. She finished her career as a beloved Childrens Librarian at the downtown library. Generations of children will remember her story times.Nancy was an active member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church. She loved reading, storytelling and puppetry. She enjoyed traveling to Europe, California and Door County. Nancy is survived by her sister Gail (Thomas) Hable, Oshkosh; her nieces Kelly Hable, Oshkosh; Rita (Jay) Pawlak, California; and nephew, Scott, in Oakland, California; several cousins, great nieces, great nephews and her special friend, Sandy Joseph.Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Philip and David Jackisch.Visitation will be Friday, July 26 from 4-7 P.M. at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home at 402 Waugoo Avenue, Oshkosh.The funeral will be Saturday, July 27 at 10 A.M and held at St. Andrews Lutheran Church located at 1100 E. Murdock Avenue, Oshkosh, with visitation from 9-10 A.M. preceding the service with Pastor Karen Jewell officiating.Lunch will follow at the church. Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Nancys Memory to the Childrens Department of the Oshkosh Public Library.
