Nancy J. Nelson

Nancy Jo Nelson, age 85, passed away Monday May 16, 2022.  She was born on January 22, 1937, to the late Troy and Mary Susan Douthitt in Granby, Missouri.  Nancy married airman first class Robert Kenneth Nelson on December 3, 1955 in Wiesbaden, Germany. He preceded her in death on October 12, 2007. Nancy worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Thomas Hallquist  for many years until she retired.  After that, her enjoyment came from volunteering at the Oshkosh Area Humane Society and the Oshkosh Senior Center serving food for the Advocap Nutrition Program team.  Nancy will be remembered and missed dearly for her many acts of kindness, love for animals, and the giving of herself to others.
Nancy is survived by her son Michael (Lynn Hemminghaus) Nelson, and her daughter Susan Nelson, of Oshkosh.  One brother; Thomas Douthitt, Monet, MO; three sisters-in-law Carol Crahen, Oshkosh, Thelma Douthitt, Davenport, IA and Eva Lehmann, Poway, CA.
 She was preceded in death by her parents Troy and Mary, and her husband Robert, a step-father; Harold Ellrich, one sister; Terri Lynn Douthitt, and two brothers; John and Jerry Douthitt. 
A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh). Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. with the service immediately following.
