Nathan Mark Backus

Nathan M. Backus, 29, of Oshkosh died unexpectedly on Sunday February 20, 2011. He was born March 21, 1981 in Avon Park, FL a son of Mark Backus and Deborah (Huebner) Backus. Nathan was a self taught guitar player and songwriter. He could fix anything especially cars and computers. He enjoyed going to music festivals, hunting, and warm sunshiny-summer weather. He is survived by his mother Deborah (Jerry) Nelson, father Mark (Mary) Backus, a sister Liz Backus, grandmother Connie Huebner, grandmother June Backus, and step-sisters Mandy Stein and Angie Nelson all of Oshkosh. He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his godparents. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers William Huebner and Henry Backus and a cousin Brandon Backus. A memorial service for Nathan will be held Friday February 25, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, Rev. Jen Czarnota officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday at the Lake Pointe Dr. funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established. Be strong against temptation in life and do not mourn for me. I am now at peace and in a better place.
