Neil B McRae, age 83yrs 11 months, of Oshkosh passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017 after a brief illness. He has gone to join his mother, father, brothers, and sisters in heaven. He was born in Oshkosh, WI, on June 7, 1933 in his grandmother’s house (Florence nee Tritt Wilkinson) along with his cousin on the same day; he is the son of the late Bruce and Stella (Wilkinson) McRae.
Neil was known by his family as Pat or his nick name given by his father Patty Boy. He lived on Grove Ave in Oshkosh all of his life with his parents whom had built their own home by themselves. Pat was always there for his parents he never married. Once he learned how to drive, he would chauffer his father around to any place his father wanted to go (Trails End, Green Bay, etc.) There are so many memories of fun times and parties that Pat and his family would attend. (Good Memories)
Pat graduated from Oshkosh High School class of 1955, he believed in education and family. He was employed as a truck driver with Godshall Paper Company until his time of retirement.
Pat loved spending time with his family watching the Green Bay Packers play; he also enjoyed TV of any kind but would laugh at the 3 Stooges and other older comedy. His brother’s Donny, Duncan and brother-in-law Bill would all go on many fishing outings. At a later date he would go up and mow his sister Jan’s lawn to help her out.
In 1971, as a new chapter in his family’s life he played a major role by demolishing the old homestead, and had a new home built for his family (Little Grandma; Warren, Valerie, Marge, and Brian) so they could have a better life.
Pat is survived by his brother Warren McRae, sister Judith Norton, nieces and nephews Thomas Gahr, Barbara Sontag, Micheal McRae, Mari Martin, Robert Pekel, Sue Ann Schwartzbauer, Alyce Mongan, Patti Strasser, Valerie Harries, Nancy Schaeffer, Marjorie McRae, William Norton III, Bryan McRae and Douglas Norton.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents Bruce and Stella nee Wilkinson McRae, Pat’s 3 brothers and their wives Richard and Eleanor Gahr, Donald and Una Gahr , Duncan and Joyce McRae , Pat’s 2 sisters Betty and Roy Simons , Janice and Robert Pekel , Pat’s brother –in-law William Norton, niece Tary Nutting.
