Neil L. Jr McBriar, 69, of Oshkosh, died on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center with his family at his side. Jr was born on November 25, 1944 in Berlin a son of the late Neil and Marion Simson McBriar. He was a 1962 Berlin High School graduate and joined the Army shortly after graduation serving in the 101st Air Born Divn. After returning from the service he married Karen Trochinski. Jr married Donna Lumby on August 19, 2005 in Oshkosh. He worked as a tester at Oshkosh Truck Corp. until retirement. Neil was a fun loving man with a quick smile for everyone. He enjoyed traveling, fishing with his friends in Canida, deer hunting and time at the Deer Shack in Neillsville. The greatest joy in his life was grandkids, watching their sporting events, 4 wheeling, fishing, and teaching them how things work. Getting to hunt with two of his grandsons this year was a special moment to all of them.Survivors include his wife, Donna of Oshkosh; children, Brian (Lori) McBriar of Oshkosh, Wendy (Eric) Block of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Emily and Michael McBriar, Jacob and Brady Block; sisters, Lucille (Lawrence Speedy) Verheyen of Berlin, Marilyn (Gary) Olsen of Harlowton, MT, Linda (David) Parker of Berlin; stepchildren, Tony (Deb) Moore of Merrimac. Paula (Jay) Moore of Waupaca; step grandchildren, Amanda Ziebel, and Xander Fleckenstein. Also left behind are many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.A memorial time of sharing will be held at the UAW #578 Hall (2920 Oregon St. Oshkosh) on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.Memorials to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation will be appreciated.
