Norma L. Langlitz

December 3, 1944 — August 29, 2022

Norma L. Langlitz, age 77 of Oshkosh, passed away at Ascension Mercy Hospital on Monday, August 29, 2022. She was born in Oshkosh on December 3, 1944 to the late Norman and Josephine (Stelter) Dittmer. Norma was united in marriage to Gene Langlitz on April 29, 1967, and their marriage was blessed with two children.

Prior to motherhood, Norma worked at the State Hospital, and Prange’s among other downtown locations where she made many lifelong friendships. After raising her kids, she returned to the workforce as a bank teller at various credit unions throughout Oshkosh. She was blessed with the ability to retire early in life so that she could spend quality time with “her boys” as they grew up.

Norma was a member of St. Josephat, and St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church. She loved her family fiercely, and always took care of “her boys”. She was an excellent cook and baker who always made sure bellies were full. She enjoyed bowling, sitting in her chair watching game shows, receiving text messages with updates on “her boys” lives, and spending time with her dogs, Daisy, Sammy, and Lilly. Sammy was always Norma’s favorite; she had a special bond with Norma and Papa Norm.

Norma is lovingly survived by her husband, Gene Langlitz; son, Tim (Kris) Langlitz; grandchildren: Quincy (Alexa) Stokes, Trevor (Kim Richardson), Jared, and Blake Langlitz, Braden and Madison Permann; great grandchild: Amara Stokes; sister: Judi (George) Prescott. She is further survived by daughter-in-law, Amy Langlitz, good friends, Gloria and Barb, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Langlitz-Turner; siblings: Jackie (Mike) Grippo, Richard (Ruth) Dittmer, and Ralph (special friend, Jeanette) Dittmer; in-laws: Benjamin and Leona Langlitz.

A memorial service for Norma will be held at the Lake View Memorial Park chapel, 2786 Algoma Blvd., on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Inurnment will be held immediately after.

The Langlitz family would like the thank Compassus Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Norma during her final days. Thank you also to neighbors Paul and Karen for the help, love and support throughout this journey.
