Norman E. Schilcher

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Norman Edward Schilcher on January 3rd, 2021. Family was at his side as he listened to Frank Sinatra sing, “My Way”. He was looking forward to one day reuniting with his wife of 63 years, Charlotte, who predeceased him in 2019.

Norman was born July 17, 1934 in Oshkosh to the late Alfred and Agnes (Robl) Schilcher, predeceased by brothers John, Alvin, Lawrence, Leonard, Clifford, Sylvester, twin Norbert, and one sister, Mary Jane Schilcher.

Loving and compassionate father to Diana Ulrich (special friend Steve Rumlow) and Julie (Barry) Puhl.

He was the proud Opa to Ben (Manda) Puhl, Kris (Bridget) Ulrich and Jessica (Zach) Woolever and great-grandpa to Charlotte Ulrich.

Norman lived most of his life in Oshkosh where he operated Norm’s Barbershop for over 30 years. Prior to becoming a barber, he served in the U.S. Army. It was his service in Germany that brought him to Charlotte. He enjoyed hunting, caring for his apple trees, working in his vegetable garden, the bounties of which he generously shared, but most of all he got joy from the time spent with his family. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.

Norman was a sincere, caring, and giving man putting others before himself. He loved his family and friends unconditionally. Norm would always be first in line to lend a helping hand, give words of encouragement, or a simple “That-a-girl”.

Due to COVID 19 there was a private service.

We wish to thank the staff at Harbor Haven Health and Rehabilitation for the care and friendship that was extended to our Dad. Beth, Matilda, Melody, and Sara, you were his Angels on Earth.

You did so many things for us
