Orville C. Spars, 94, Oshkosh, formerly of Beaver Dam, died peacefully on August 10, 2006 and is now with his Father in heaven. Orville dedicated his life to his faith and his family. He was born in Beaver Dam on July 29, 1912, the son of Frank and Frieda Erdmann Spars. He married Marian Huck in Beaver Dam on September 26, 1953. Marian died on August 13, 2006.Orville served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Orville was employed by Metalfab Co. in Beaver Dam. He was a member of the American Legion John H. Miller Post # 146 and the Roamers Club He enjoyed bowling, golf, growing roses, woodworking and volunteering for Meals On Wheels.Survivors include two daughters, Diane (Steven) Schmudlach, of Oshkosh; Donna (Gerald Burdick) Spars, of Milwaukee; two grandchildren, Jason Schmudlach, of Appleton; Kristin Schmudlach, of Fond du Lac; three step-grandchildren, Nathan Burdick, of East Troy; Daniel Burdick and Benjamin Burdick, both of Milwaukee; two brothers-in-law, Hugo Bortz, of Beaver Dam and Elton (Dorene) Huck, of Fox Lake; and a sister-in-law, Delores Huebner, of Milwaukee. Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, Viola Bortz; and a brother-in-law, Rev. Philip Huebner.Funeral services for Orville and his wife Marian will be held at St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at Noon with the Rev. *** officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 11:00 AM to the time of services. Interment with military honors will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam. In lieu of flowers, a memorial to St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam has been established.
