Orville H. Burdick, age 87 of Oshkosh, passed away on September 19, 2016 at Aurora Bay Care. Orville was born in Lansing, Michigan on May 27, 1929 the son of the late Herbert Henry and Theresa (Pollack) Burdick. Orville worked on Bradleys Farm as a youngster, delivered ice, clerked at Ginkes, helped on Farmwald Dairy, and was a greatly liked school bus driver. Retiring from Wisconsin Bell in 1992, he remained busy by delivering flowers, working food pantries, being a security guard and his passion in life, driving truck. Orv was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, he served on the church council and was a leader in the establishment and implementation of their food pantry. Orv proudly served our country in the Army National Guard as tank and truck driver at Fort Knox, KY; and Fort Lewis, WA. Orv then became a proud member of American Legion Post 70.Orville is survived by his son, Herbert, step-daughter, Jayne Frank also nieces, nephews and cousins. Orville is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Diane, three brothers: Ronald, Robert and Herbert Jr., who died in Korea.Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside, 402 Waugoo Ave, with Pastor Jen Czarnota. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 12:30 pm until the time of service. Military Honors will take place at Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed towards Cerebral Palsy of Mideast Wisconsin.
