Orvis Merle Curtis, 71, of Oshkosh died Sunday November 28, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born February 9, 1939 in Seattle, WA a son of Kenneth and Cora Pickett Curtis. Orvis married Nedeen Blanchard on May 5, 1962 in Oshkosh. Orvis worked in the maintenance department at UW-O for many years. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran.Orvis enjoyed playing cards, golfing, hunting, and watching football (especially the Packers). He is survived by his wife Nedeen Curtis, a son Kenneth Curtis, a daughter Teresa Cantrall, three grandchildren Amanda Borden, Nicole Borden, and Maykayla Curtis, a sister Carole (Frank) Guenther all of Oshkosh, two brothers Keith (Margaret) Curtis of Oshkosh and Jim (Pam) Curtis of Neenah, and good friends LeRoy (Pat) Schoenauer and Larry Mathei. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Bruce Curtis. A memorial service for Orvis will be held Friday December 3, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, Rev. Paul Lidtke officiating. Visitation will be held Friday at the Lake Pointe Dr. funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the service. A memorial in his name is being established. The family of Orvis would like to thank the ICU staff at Mercy Medical Center for the wonderful care given to Orvis and themselves.
