Patricia Ann “Pat” Schaefer, age 89 of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2021. She was born on January 13, 1932, to Alex and Eleanor (Nigl) Lautenschlager. Pat was united in marriage to George P. Schaefer on June 21, 1951. He preceded her in death on November 25, 2019, after 68 years of marriage.
Pat’s greatest fulfillments in life were raising her six children, watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow, and working side by side with her family at George’s Gaslight Inn, their home away from home for 35 years. Pat enjoyed live music and loved to dance. She was so good at the jitterbug, that she earned the nickname, “Swivel-hips”! Pat enjoyed an occasional casino trip, playing cards, knitting, annual cookie exchanges, and hosting Christmas Eve.
She is survived by her children: Greg, Chris (Dennis) Stadler, Wendy (Gary) Gelhar, Lance (Cindy), Steph (Phil) Netzer, and Cory; grandchildren: Heidi (John) Jesse, Heather (Casey) Springer, Kelly (Eric) Alvarez, Ben Gelhar, Adam (Taryn) Netzer, Brandon (Ashley) Netzer, Danielle (Ryan) Beach, Athena, Nevada, Brett, and Brenna Schaefer; step-grandchildren: Justin (Katie) Poeschl and Ross (Roxy) Poeschl; twelve great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Jane) Lautenschlager; special friends: Pat Brockway and Shirley Rennert; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald; sister, Elizabeth (John) Priske; daughter-in-law, Angela Schaefer; and great-granddaughter, Kera Alvarez.
Pat was forever grateful to Chris, Wendy, Steph, Heidi, and Dennis for enabling her and George to live out their golden years at home.
