Patricia “Pat” Elvina Smith, age 98, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Eden Meadows in Oshkosh. She was born on September 18, 1924, in Sheboygan, WI to David D. and Augusta W. Holler.
Pat was a student from first through eighth grade at Trinity Lutheran School in Sheboygan, attended Central High School in Sheboygan and graduated in 1942. After graduation, she and seven friends worked in Washington, DC during the second world war for a period of time. After relocating to Sheboygan, she married Robert P. Smith on July 27, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. The couple then lived in Sheboygan Falls where their son, Steven Robert Smith was born on November 16, 1947. After moving back to the Sheboygan for several years, they relocated to Oshkosh in 1955 where they purchased a restaurant in the downtown area, naming it “The Smith Luncheonette” and operated it until 1970. The next 20 years Pat worked at the H.C. Prange Company in Oshkosh as the service desk manager.
Pat is survived by her son, Steven Robert Smith; brother, Robert Holler; sister-in-law, Janet Holler; and many nieces and nephews all dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her much loved and respected parents, David and Augusta Holler; husband, Robert Smith; siblings: Janice Benke, Arden Holler, and Richard Holler.
During the many years Pat spent with her church family at Trinity Lutheran Church both in Sheboygan and Oshkosh, she outlived many lifelong friends and regarded them as “true blessings” from her Lord and Savior, Emma Herman-Thieme of Sheboygan along with Oshkosh friends, Lorraine Muellon, Gloria King and Berdine Kroll.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh, WI with Rev. James Pemberton officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of service. Entombment will be at Lake View Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
