Patricia "Pat" Ann Swanson

    Patricia A Swanson loved celebrating Christmas, being surrounded by family and friends. Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior chose this Advent season to call her home to join her heavenly family. Patricia peacefully passed away, Tuesday afternoon, December 19, 2023, at Evergreen ShareHaven in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

    Our mother was born in Billings, Montana to Ralph and Emily Gallas on September 4, 1936. At a young age her family moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Patricia attended St. Mary’s Catholic grade school and graduated high school from Oshkosh High.

    Pat married Richard J Bouras in 1956, and had three sons (Richard, Randall, and Paul). Sadly she and her young boys lost Rich to leukemia. She found love again in her soul mate Lawrence L Swanson. Larry married Pat and called her three sons his own. They had a daughter (Laura), followed by 49 wonderful years of marriage before Larry’s passing.

    Pat and Larry loved to golf. As snowbirds they made Scottsdale, Arizona their second home. Pat’s true talent was cooking. She was the original foodie and a self taught culinary master. Her vast cookbook collection was unrivaled. She loved studying those books and amazing her friends and loved ones with her culinary arts.

    Patricia was a devout Catholic and started each day praying the rosary. The guidance she gave to her children was shaped by her faith. Family always came first. She was happiest being a mother, and couldn’t get enough of her nine grandchildren (Michelle, Michael, Randall Jr, Maureen, Melanie, Richard, Allison, Matthew, and Mitchell) in addition to fourteen great-grandkids. She is survived by; her children Richard J Swanson, Randall L (Amy) Swanson, Paul J Swanson, and Laura A Hirschberg, her brother Thomas Gallas and sisters-in-law Sandra Shine and Mona Schultz.

    Our family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Evergreen ShareHaven and AseraCare Hospice. Your loving care and help was most appreciated.

    A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
