Paul Emery Grittner

Paul E. Grittner, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on March 16, 1950, a son of Victor and Jean (Schmidt) Grittner in Chilton, WI. Paul married the love of his life, Priscilla Dahnke, on May 27, 1972, in Waterloo, WI.Paul graduated from Chilton High School, received his Bachelors in Business Administration from UW- Whitewater, and went on to receive a Masters Degree in Accounting from UW- Madison. Most recently, Paul was employed at Oshkosh Corporation as a Senior Tax Manager. For many years, Paul utilized his talents as Church Treasurer at Bethlehem Lutheran and served on many other committees. He loved coaching and refereeing soccer games, as well as watching his sons grow up playing the sport. Paul also enjoyed reading a good book whenever possible. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Priscilla; sons: Paul (Melinda) of Oconomowoc and Timothy of Mankato, MN; brother: David (Nancy) Grittner; sisters: Christine (William) Nagle and Nancy (Lance) Cooley; and sisters-in-law Nancy (Dale) Neupert and Mary (Jerry) Wallin. He is further survived by nieces: Olivia and Victoria Cooley; and nephews: Mark (Anna) Nagle, Joel (Angie) Nagle, Michael (Tami) Grittner, and Nicholas (Andrea) Grittner. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncle.A memorial service for Paul will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church (3200 N. Mountain Rd., Wausau, WI). Visitation will be held at church from 12:00 pm until the time of the service.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Nature Conservancy of Door County, WI, or to the Wisconsin DNR in support of Wisconsin's endangered resources. A private interment will be held at a later date.
