Pearl E. Cottrell, 90 of Oshkosh passed away Friday, December 7, 2007 at Evergreen Manor Retirement Community. She was born in Rockford Illinois on November 29, 1917, the daughter of John and Bertha Baker Rankin.On June 4, 1943 she married Howard R. Cottrell in Oshkosh. He preceded her death on May 25, 1977. They have three children, Howard W. (Anna May) Cottrell of Omro, who he preceded her death in 2000. Gerald (Gloria) Cottrell of Oconto Falls and Joan Williams Lentz who preceded her death in 1977. She was also preceded in Death by her brother Clarence Rankin of Omro and Phyllis Riggle of Florida.Pearl had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Evergreen Retirement Community for eleven years, retiring in 1988. She raised and bred Siberian Huskies for 30 years.Pearl loved her family and friends, enjoyed her dogs, camping, her garden, nature and being a caregiver.She will never be forgotten but dearly missed by her surviving; son Gerald and daughter- in-law Gloria Cottrell, her daughter-in-law Anna May Cottrell and all of her grandchildren, Nancy Jo (Jeff ) Christensen, Julie Covi, Harry Butcher, Leslie Ann Gerahman, Michael Harris, Hal (Bonnie) Williams, David Williams, JoDean Cooper, JoLane Lentz and Jina (Kevin) Hochstetter. Her fifteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren and close family friends, Dick, Carol, David, Joel and Sandy Rank.All family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service 10 a.m. graveside (St. Peters & Woodbine) at Riverside Cemetery (1901 Algoma Blvd.) on Saturday, June 14, 2008 in Oshkosh. Everyone is also invited to join the family directly after the memorial service for a gathering and brunch at Evergreen Retirement Community 1130 N. Westfield St., Oshkosh 54902 in the Commons Room.In lieu of flowers, offerings will be accepted by Evergreen Manor Retirement Community Foundation for a memorial fund in the name of Pearl E, Cottrell.The entire family would like to express their deep appreciation for the loving care that Pearl received from everyone at Evergreen Manor Retirement Community during her residency there.
