Philippe J. Kroening, age 74, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday April 23, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on August 6, 1938 in Oshkosh the son of Herman and Leona Kloberdanz Kroening. On August 8, 1964 he married Judy Kuhnz in Oshkosh.Philippe was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired firefighter. He enjoyed his grandchildren and attending their events regardless of how long those events lasted. He enjoyed coffee with the guys at Firestation 17 and breakfast with retired firefighters. Philippe and Judy spent many special trips to Las Vegas and Florida with their special friends.He is survived by his wife Judy, one son Matthew(Laura) Kroening, two daughters Kathy Luebke, Jennifer(Richard III) Marter, six grandchildren Meghan Kroening, Nathan Kroening, Michael Luebke, Matthew Luebke, Natalie Luebke, Richar Marter IV, one sister Susan Searls, brothers-in-law Jerry Rezek, Jim(Betty) Kuhnz, Ralph(Mary Jo) Peterman, and one sister in law Janet KuhnzHe was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Sandra, and a brother-in-law Gil Searl.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church (240 W. 9th Ave.) with Rev. John Worzala-Dumke officiating. Visitation for friends and family will be held Friday at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-(Westside) from 4-7 p.m with Firefighter Honor Guard services to follow. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service.In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
