Phyllis I. (Nolte) Hitz, 75, of Oshkosh, passed away Friday June 14, 2013, following a short stay at Eden Meadows Lutheran Homes. Phyllis was born on March 22, 1938, in Oshkosh, a daughter to the late Henry and Dorothy Nolte. She married Raymond Hitz on November 17, 1956 in Oshkosh.Phyllis was an active lifelong member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, where she was baptized, confirmed, and married. She had a strong faith and demonstrated it with her daily living as well as her involvement in various church activities, including the Womens Guild, ushering, church picnics, and Easter breakfasts.Phyllis worked at Badger Limber prior to becoming a stay at home mom, who was involved with her children and grandchildrens many activities. She could always be found at their events cheering them on. She provided childcare to many children over the years, each of them having a special place in her heart. Family was a priority and very important part of Phyllis life. She and Ray also enjoyed going to many musical concerts and plays over the years.Phyllis is survived by her husband, Ray; daughter, Kim (Mike) Winter and their children, Devin and Carley Winter of Oshkosh; son-in-law, Mark Domasky (fiance-Tami Evans) and children Bradley and Benjamin Domasky of Oshkosh; sister, Margaret (Larry) Yoder of Oshkosh; brother-in-law, Richard Hitz of Oshkosh; and sister-in-law, Gayle (Edward) Kopansky of Phippsburg, Maine. She is further survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a close extended family of friends including special friends, Paul and Shirley Voss. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by daughters, Kara Domansky and Lori Hitz; brother, Richard Nolte; and sisters-in-law, Mary Hitz and Jackie Nolte.A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Emmanuel United Church of Christ (1306 Michigan St.) with Rev. Andi Wolf officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 19 at 9:00 a.m. at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established at Emmanuel United Church of Christ or the American Cancer Society.She will be sadly missed by all those whose lives she touched in so many positive ways.Psalm 48:14 For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.
