Phyllis J Buhrow

Phyllis J. Buhrow, 75, of Oshkosh passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012 at her home. She was born May 11, 1936 in Oshkosh, the second daughter of Francis and Rena Nelson. Phyllis married Roy E. Buhrow Sr. on October 9, 1963. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1998.After raising 10 children, she decided to work outside the home. She enjoyed working as a security guard at Oshkosh Truck, greeting everyone coming and going. Because she lived in Oshkosh all her life, she would always see someone she knew at some of her favorite places, such as Mikes Restaurant, IHOP, The Roxy, Festival Foods, Pick N Save, and Wal-Mart. She was also the queen of QVC.With so many children in the house, there were always friends over. Phyllis made everyone feel welcome and was known by most as Mom or Mum. When you visited Phyllis at her house, you never left hungry. She was a wonderful cook and quick to offer you something to eat and drink.After putting up with all sorts of different pets over the years, Phyllis was content with her poodles (Snowball, JoJo, Sparky, and Scotty) and her cat (Tiffy). They were all waiting for her on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.Surviving family members include nine children, Bonnie (Dale) Reichenberger of Oshkosh, Cindy (Mike) Farry of Wild Rose, Linda (Ken) Ingham of Salem, OR, L. Steve Buhrow of Oshkosh, Carla (Gary) Buhrow of Oshkosh, Diane Millard of Oshkosh, Sandra Brown of Spokane, WA, Roy Buhrow Jr. of Oshkosh, and Brenda (Dave) Christianson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Carri Ann Remillard (Alex and Dug); Alanda (Gary) Dewhurst-Cecile, Dylan, Nicholas; Angel Burke (Chance); Ken (Steph) Seely-Isiah, Izzy, Traeven; Breanna Braunlich-Amarionah Faith; Christopher Roy Millard; Kenny Ingham III; Megan (Jean) Hinz-Justine; Stephanie Buhrow; April (Adam) Richie-Tate, Taylor; David (Mia) Schmiedel-Ethan, Carter, Mason; Cindy (Travis) Madl-Cody, Elleanor, Alizabeth, Alivia; Andrew Schmiedel; Patrick Rohde Jr.-Kaden; Jessie (Michael) Austin-Abriel, Hailie, Paige; Nicole Brown; Elizabeth Brown; Henry Brown IV; Melanie Buhrow; Roy Buhrow III; Cody Lee (Amanda) Buhrow; Kimberly Christianson-Jaden Roy, Emma Grace; Johnathan (Ashley) Christianson; Crystal (John) Blackburn; and Brittany Millard; a niece Leah Hefpner; and a nephew Jimmy Nelson. In addition to her husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, her oldest son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Susan Millard and three brothers Leon, Norm, and Wayne Nelson.A funeral service for Phyllis will be held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at noon at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside, Rev. Carol Christianson officiating. Visitation will be held at the Waugoo Ave. funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.The family would like to express their deep appreciation and thank all the nursing staff at Aurora Dialysis Center, Dr. Lake, Dr. Wilson, Nurse Pat on 2W Aurora, and the pharmacy staff at ShopKo Pharmacy for their kindness and care of Phyllis over the last years.
