Ralph J. Kietzman, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14th in Oshkosh.
He was born on January 28th, 1930 to William and Amanda (Thiel) Kietzman in Oshkosh, WI.
Ralph started working at the age of sixteen in the mail room at Wisconsin National Life Insurance Company. Over a forty-year career he held a variety of positions, ultimately becoming the Executive Underwriter for the company.
His time at Wisconsin National Life was interrupted briefly when he was drafted into the Army in 1951 during the Korean War era. He served for two years on active duty with the 4th Signal Company, 4th Infantry Division in Germany. When he returned to Wisconsin National Life, he served an additional six years in the Army Reserve with the 455th Military Police, Criminal Investigation Division, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant.
He was united in marriage to Bessie J. Schoenrock on June 11th, 1955 at Martin Luther Church in Oshkosh.
Ralph was a lifelong member of Martin Luther Church, serving many years on the church council, including as the President of the Congregation. He also volunteered his time working in the school library.
He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with family members.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Bess, his daughter Lynn (Ken) Newton, and his brother Loren (Diana) Kietzman. He was preceded in death by his sister Betty (Lloyd) Lemke.
A private family internment will occur at Lakeview Cemetery in Oshkosh.
